When you live life through your camera's lens, you start to notice all the little details that maybe, you never really paid attention to before. My DSLR camera is literally an extension of myself and I take it with me wherever I go because, I never know what I may see. I went to a park in Phoenix the other day during lunch and I was attempting to take pictures of all the ducks in the lake. I literally scared every single duck off. Except for one. One, strange duck. With blue eyes. (Which I've never seen before, or maybe I have, but never noticed...) She swam right towards me, as close as she could get, and idled confidently, as she posed for my loud lens. Call me weird, but for a moment, I felt a connection to her. It was as if she knew she was special. It was as if, she wanted me to take her picture so that I could share with others her unique beauty. If she had swam away like all the other ducks, no one would ever notice her, and she would be lost in the crowd.
When it comes to ourselves and what makes us special, why do we shy away and hide? Why are we afraid to let people see who we truly are? I hope we all have the confidence to share with others our own beauty. So maybe, you'll smile, or say hi to a stranger today, and show the world what you're made of. I know I will. And I'll thank a duck for a life's lesson learned. Happy Friday.
